NEPAL - The Land of Festivals

Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu

On arrival, met & assist by our representative and transfer to the hotel for check in.

Kathmandu: is situated in the Central Nepal amid Himalayas The Kathmandu valley consists of 3 historic, artistic and cultural towns namely Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. Kathmandu is the Mecca of Nepal's traditional culture, arts and cuisines. This is the place for rest and relaxation and don't have hectic lifestyle that has so become part and parcel of metropolitans round the world. The easy-day sightseeing takes you to various historic and artistic temples and monuments. One also enjoys Kathmandu for nightlife, shopping and for the mountain views. Its religious affiliations are dominantly Hindu followed by Buddhism. People of other religious beliefs also live in Kathmandu giving it a cosmopolitan culture. Nepali is the common language of the city. Kathmandu is now the premier cultural and economic hub of Nepal and is considered to have the most advanced infrastructure among urban areas in Nepal.

Later in the day, proceed for a half-day City Orientation tour.

Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square ~ It is a historic seat of royalty. It is here that kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations celebrated. It is most impressive sight and is crowded with ancient temples and palaces reflecting the religious and cultural life of the people. It is also home to Kathmandu's Kumari, or 'living goddess', a young girl believed to be a reincarnation of the goddess Durga.

Later, visit Swyambhunath Stupa ~ one of the world's most famous Buddhist Chaityas. The 2000-year-old Chaityas is commonly known as the 'monkey temple' because of its resident population of monkey. This spectacular Buddhist Stupa, from which the Buddha's eyes gaze serenely down, lies on a hilltop only 2km from the center of Kathmandu.

Day 02 : Kathmandu

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to a full day sightseeing of Kathmandu.

Visit Pashupatinath Temple – Situated 5km east of Kathmandu, the temple of lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, with two tiered golden roof and silver door is considered one of the holiest shrines for Hindus. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple. Other religion people can see from out of the temple premises. The temple was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list in 1997.
Boudhanath Stupa: The Stupa of Boudhanath lies eight kms east of the center of Kathmandu. This ancient colossal Stupa is one of the biggest in the World and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. It was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1979.
Patan Durbar Square: Patan (The City of beauty) is situated on the southern bank of the holy river Bagmati (a tributary of the Ganges) some five kilometers southeast of Kathmandu. Nowadays, it has virtually become part of sub metropolitan Kathmandu. The city is famed for its wealth of Buddhist and Hindu temples with an abundance of fine bronze gateways and wonderful carvings. Patan is known for its expert craftsmen and metal workers. The Patan Durbar square is full of ancient palaces, temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite carvings. The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal Bath called Tushahity. It was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument List in 1979.

Day 03 : Kathmandu ~ Pokhara (200 Kms/6 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Pokhara. On arrival, check in at Shangri la village Resort.

Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 04 : Pokhara

After breakfast, proceed for the half-day sightseeing of Pokhara.
Pokhara is a resort city of remarkable beauty. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificent summit of Machhapuchhre rising behind it create an ambiance of peace and magic. Clearly the most stunning of Pokhara's sights is the spectacular panorama of the Annapurna ranges which forms its backdrop. The most popular sites of Pokhara are Phewa Lake, Devi's fall, Bindebasini Temple & Seti Gorge.

Day 05 : Pokhara ~ Dhulikhel ((225 Kms/ 07 Hrs.)

After breakfast, drive to Dhulikhel. On arrival, check at Dhulikhal Mountain resort.

Rest of the day at leisure in surroundings of great Eastern Himalayan Ranges.

Dhulikhel is small hill resort town located just outside Kathmandu on Arniko Highway connecting Nepal with Tibet on erstwhile silk route.

Overnight at resort in Dhulikhal Mountain resort.

Day 06 : Dhulikhel ~ Kathmandu (28 Kms/ 01 Hr.)

Early morning, experience the view of the sunrise. Breakfast at the hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure.

Afternoon, checkout from the hotel and drive to Kathmandu. Enroute, visit Bhaktapur City (Situated at an altitude of 1,401 mtrs. Bhaktapur covers an area of 4 Sq. Miles. Shaped like a conch- shell).
Evening, farewell Dinner with dances of Nepal at local Restaurant.

Day 07 : Depart Kathmandu

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure.
In time, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back home.

The following theme party could be organized at hotel Yak & Yeti with an advance notice of at least  one month and for not less than 45 pax.

BEVERAGES - As ordered by the host but we can also include laced lassi or milk shakes, if the guests are willing to be adventurous.
DINNER -
The food will be served buffet style according to the menu desired. The composition of menu could be of any type depending upon the choice of the guests. We are quite flexible about it.
