NEPAL & BHUTAN TOUR

Day 01 :ARRIVE KATHMANDU (D)

On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be met & assist by Our representative and transfer to the hotel for check in.
The Kathmandu Valley, the capital, is the political, commercial and cultural hub of Nepal. The valley embraces most of Nepal’s ethinc groups, but Newars are the indigenous inhabitants and the creators of the valley’s splendid civilization. Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, is one of the oldest cities of the world set admits in the beautiful valley of Himalayas and loved by those who appreciate the nature at its best.
Rest of the evening at leisure.
Later, transfer to the local restaurant for the cultural dinner.
Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 :DRIVE TO POKHARA ON THE WAY RAFTING ON TRISHULI RIVER. (B,L)

After breakfast, drive to Charaundi (83 kms west) and start rafting till Kurintar. Packed lunch will be served.
The Trishuli River is the most easily accessible from Kathmandu, Pokhara and Royal Chitwan National Park by far a trip on this river can be made for a varied duration, depending upon the availability of time and interest. Scenic valleys and impressive gorges, exhilarating rapids and easier sections as well as the right amount of time all make it the perfect trip for first-time or experienced rafters.
Arrive Kurintar and transfer to the Pokhara. On arrival, checkin at the hotel.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 :DRIVE TO NAYAPUL AND TREK TO ULLERI. ALTITUDE 1,960M/5 HRS. APPROX.) (B,L,D)

After breakfast, drive to Nayapul (1010 meters).
Your trek begins in Nayapul where you follow a river to Birethanti (1,025m). Walk gently uphill to Hille (1,475m). The many streams, waterfalls, tropical vegetation, and green fields give this area a lush feeling. Cross a suspension bridge in Tikedhunga and walk uphill to your overnight stop at Ulleri (1,960m).

Day 04 :TREK TO GHOREPANI. (ALTITUDE 2,750M/5HRS APPROX). (B,L,D)

Follow an uneven path up and down hills, Ghorepani Trek is one of the famous trekking route in Nepal for teahouse. It offers wonderful view of the Annapurna region for a shorter trekker. This place is rich of hidden treasure of Nepalese culture and tradition. During the trek the trail passes through Gurung and Magar village who contributed in Gurkha regiment, dense rhododendron (Nepalese national flower), Oak forest full of birds, green hills and patchwork valleys are the other worth seeing places. You will get opportunity to observe Mt. Fishtail (6,993m,) Annapurna (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167) in every angle. On an excursion to Pun Hill one can observe the entire mountain ranges; covering red and pink rays of the Sun in full bloom at the Sunset and Sun rises.

Day 05 :TREK TO GHANDRUK (ALTITUDE 1,940M) ON THE WAY HIKE HIKE UP TO POON HILL (3210M.) (B,L,D)

Rising early in the morning, we start an hour hiking to Poon Hill at elevation of 3210 meters, a brilliant spectacle; this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. We spend there about 1 hour, continue walk through rhododendron forest. The views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchre are spectacular. You get to Ghandruk, a Gurung Village (home of the famous Gurkhas).
A pre-dawn hike to Poon Hill in time for sunrise over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Range (210 meters). After breakfast rejoin the trail that wends its way north along the ridge line with magnificent views of the Annapurnas stretching out from east to west. Follow a forested ridge for a while, descend steeply down a muddy slope to a small settlement before entering a heavily forested gorge. The gorge widens and the trail enters an open area.
Proceed to Ghandruk, a Gurung Village (home of the famous Gurkhas).

Day 06 :TREK TO NAYAPUL AND DRIVE TO POKHARA (B)

Trek To Nayapul (4hrs) and then to Pokhara. From Ghandruk, the trail descends gradually on a wide flagstone-paved trail and you walk through the Kimche village (1,670m). The landscape suddenly becomes lusher and you descend towards the valley floor and the Modi Khola (The River). Glancing back Machhapuchare is still there.
Drive to Pokhara. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07 :DRIVE TO CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK. (B,L,D)

After breakfast, drive to Chitwan National Park. On arrival, check in at the resort.
After lunch, visit the village of Tharu tribal people whose lifestyle remains unchanged over 100 years. You also visit the Park Information Center and in the evening, enjoy Sunset View from the riverside. Possibly, there will be slideshow presentation on wildlife or cultural performance by Tharu tribes.
Elephant-back safari: ride on an elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife. You will be able to see the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours.
Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 08 :CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK.(B,L,D)

5:30 AM: Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee, and then proceed on a Nature Walk.
Return for the breakfast and go for river tour on a traditional dug out canoe. You will get chance to spot the various aquatic life including Gharial crocodiles. The canoe trip lasts half an hour to 40 minutes and you will be picked up by jeep or experience the primitive transport-the oxen cart ride back to the resort.
After lunch, we will take elephant back safari and explore the dense forest of the National Park. The commonly sighted animals are one horned Asian Rhino, sloth Beer, Wild boar, Leopard, deer etc. Although the national park is home to more than 100 Royal Bengal Tigers, tiger sighting is very rare as its nocturnal animal.
Return to the resort for leisure. Take a dip in the pool, or relax on your verandah. Hammocks and the library are at your disposal.
Evening, watch Tharu Stick dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances. Dinner around the campfire.
Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 09 :CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK - KATHMANDU. (B)

5.30 AM: Bird Watching (or another elephant ride) after early morning tea/coffee.
After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10 :FLY TO PARO AND DRIVE TO THIMPU. (B,L,D)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport for your flight to Paro. Arrive Paro, you will be met & assisted by GoAvenues representative and drive to Paro.
After lunch, Visit Paro National Museum and Dzong.
Drive to Drugyal Dzong ( a ruined fortress - 16 Kms away from Paro town ). Although in ruins, this Fortress of great historical importance. It was here that the Bhutanese finally defeated the invading Tibetans and drove them back. From here, the peaks of Mount Jomulhari ( Alt. 7329m ) "Mountain of Goddess" can be seen on a clear day. Visit the Rinpung Dzong. This massive fortress is located in the Paro valley and is approached by a gently sloping flagstone road and a beautiful wooden bridge roofed with shingles and abutted by two guard houses. Today, this fortress houses the Administrative seat of the district of Paro and the district Monk Body with about 200 monks. The central tower (Utse) of the fortress, is one of the most beautiful in Bhutan with its superb woodwork. The Dzong ( fortress ) was built in 1645 AD Picnic lunch at the river bank or in the hotel. Afternoon : Drive to Thimphu ( capital ).
Later, drive to Thimphu through the winding road along the Paro and Thimphu river takes about 2 hr. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11 :THIMPHU-SIGHTSEEING - PARO (B,L,D)

After breakfast, drive to Thimphu City tour visiting Visit the Memorial Chorten ( a huge stupa ) built in memory of the third King of Bhutan who reigned the country from 1952-1972. Visit the Painting and Wood Craft school where traditional art and craft is still kept alive. Visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Visit the Handicrafts Emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts are displayed and can be purchased.
After lunch, visit Simtokha Dzong. This is one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan located about 6 Kms. from Thimphu town. It houses the largest Monastic schools in the country. Visit Tashichho Dzong, the main secretariat buildi ng. This massive fortress houses part of the government Ministries, the office of the King and the Throne Room. It also houses the State Monastic Body and the office and the living quarters of the Chief Abbot.
Free to do some shopping in the town.
After lunch, drive to Paro and walk around Paro Town
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12 :HIKE TO TIGER’S NEST (B,L,D)

After early breakfast, drive to end of the road and hike Taktsang Monastery. A very special day, with an excursion to view the spectacular Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) monastery - After breakfast a short drive takes us to Satsam Chorten, from there a 2 hr. walk till the viewpoint point of the monastery. The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss, and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags.You stop for a rest and light refreshments at the Taktsang Jakhang (cafeteria) and then walk a short distance until we see, clearly and seemingly within reach, Taktsang monastery. The primary Lhakhang was built around Guru Rimpoche’s meditation cave in the 1684by the Penlop of Paro Gyaltse Tenzin Rabgay, this incredible monastery clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below. Legend has it that Guru Padmasambhava, the tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, flew here on the back of a flying tiger, Dorji Drolo, said to be his favorite consort and evening walk around Paro city.

Day 13 :ARRIVE KATHMANDU (D)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Kathmandu.
On arrival, you will be met & assist by GoAvenues representative and transfer to the hotel for check in.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 14 :DAY MOUNTAIN BIKING TRIP (KATHMANDU - TINPIPLE - TOKHA - KATHMANDU (35 - 40 KM) (B)

This is a unique day tour made for all range of riders beginners to expert mixing of off trails, jeep track and covered mostly village life of Kathmandu Valley. You ride from Thamel via the side road of Balaju Botanical Garden to Teenpiple intersection.
Start riding towards Dharmasthali Village mostly downhill about 8km. Then we use few up and downs towards Tokha Playground. On the way you will have few section on single trail on paddy field. We will have lunch (pack) here and after lunch ride towards Budhanilkantha (Sleeping Vishnu Temple) for about 8km mostly flat and few sections up or ride back to Thamel. The entire tour gives you an experience of village life, beautiful view of Nagarjun and Sivpuri jungle.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 15 :DEPARTURE KATHMANDU (B)

After breakfast, morning at leisure.
Later, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
