Shirdi, Temple and Cave Tour

Day 1: ARRIVE MUMBAI

On arrival in Mumbai, you will be met and assisted by representative and transferred to the hotel for check in.

Welcome to Mumbai !!! , the city that never sleeps is home to around 10 million people. A thriving cosmopolitan, multi-cultural city, it is the centre of India's entertainment industry ‘Bollywood’’. A city of sparkling contrasts where skyscrapers stand next to stately Victorian buildings, colourful traditional bazaars adjoin glittering modern shopping malls.

Rest of the day at leisure and Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: MUMBAI - SHIRDI

After breakfast, proceed for a drive towards Shirdi for a temple tour.

Shirdi holds a special importance for the devotees of Sai Baba. Located about 296 kilometres from Mumbai, it has the famous Shirdi Sai Temple built over the Samadhi of Sai Baba. Regarded with great reverence by both Muslims and the Hindus, this holy shrine attracts thousands of visitors every year. The important places to visit in Shirdi are: Samadhi Mandir, Dwarka Mai Mandir, Chawdi, Hanuman Mandir etc.

Sai Baba; Popularly known as the 'Child of God', Sai Baba preached tolerance towards all religions and the message of universal brotherhood. Shirdi was where the saint Sai Baba lived till his samadhi in 1918. Today, it is a pilgrimage center and millions of his devotees from all over the world come each year to pay their respects. Every activity at Shirdi revolves around the vast temple complex dedicated to Sai Baba. Devotees start queuing up in the early hours of dawn to catch a glimpse and seek the blessings of the life-size statue of Sai Baba.

Day 3: SHIRDI - AURANGABAD

After breakfast at the hotel, check out from the hotel and drive back to Mumbai for your onward journey to Aurangabad.
On arrival check in to the hotel and proceed for city tour.

Aurangabad has been declared as the Tourism Capital of Maharashtra. Named after the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, the city is dotted with a large number of historical monuments. The most famous monument in Aurangabad is the Bibi-ka-Maqbara , Aurangazeb's wife’s burial chamber resembling the Taj Mahal. The other tourist attractions include Panchakki (water mill) and Aurangabad Caves.

Back to the hotel for an overnight stay

Day 4: AURANGABAD -EXCURSION TO ELLORA CAVES

Post breakfast, leave for an excursion to Ellora caves. The Ellora caves are a World Heritage site located 29 km North-West of Aurangabad. These caves represent the pinnacle of Indian rock-cut architecture. There are a total of 34 caves built between the 5th century and 10th century. Structures dedicated to Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism in the same complex also illustrates the spirit of tolerance in ancient India. Popular sites here are Viharaas, Kailasa Temple and the Buddhist Vishvakarma Chaitya.
Return back to Aurangabad for overnight stay.

Day 5: AURANGABAD - EXCURSION TO AJANTA CAVES

After breakfast, leave for an excursion to the Ajanta caves one of the world's greatest historical monuments recognised by UNESCO. These are 30 rock-cut cave monuments located in the Aurangabad dating back to the 2nd Century BC to 600 BC. These caves have extra-ordinary paintings and sculptures which are considered to be epitome of Buddhist religious art. The most notable thing about these caves is that they have been entirely crafted from hands using just hammers and chisels.
After excursion to Ajanta caves, return to Aurangabad for overnight stay.

Day 6: AURANGABAD - MUMBAI

Start your drive back to Mumbai. On arrival, check into hotel. The day is free for leisure activities or take a short sightseeing tour of Mumbai. You can begin your day with a boat ride for an excursion to Elephanta Island across the harbour from the Gateway of India. It is famous for its ornately carved temples, hewn into a rocky escarpment in the 6th century.

Later, proceed for a short guided tour of Mumbai, visit Gateway of India - Mumbai's most famous landmark, situated at Apollo Bunder. And next to it is the famous Taj Mahal Hotel. While travelling, you will get to see the Siddhivinayak Temple, a 200 year old temple, made of gold and marble; the complex engineering marvel Bandra-Worli sea link. You will drive past some well known areas of Mumbai like Marine Drive, Juhu Chowpatty, Crawford Market, Colaba Causeway, Nariman Point, Chor Bazaar, Lokandwala etc. Photo stops at Haji Ali at sunset, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Hanging Garden etc. Have a picture with the world famous Dabbawallas of Mumbai!

Day 7: DEPART MUMBAI

After breakfast, check out from hotel and you will get transferred to the airport to board a flight for onward journey.
