Punjabi Theme - The Lions of Punjab”
The Sikh community of Punjab represents the Lion. The “Singhs” or Lions are
known for their bravery and for their perseverance. One of the founders of
Sikhism, Maharaja Ranjit Singh was known as the “Lion of Punjab”
This evening brings you face-to-face with one of India’s most lively and vibrant
states with a “Villages of Punjab” theme dinner. Based on the state of Punjab,
the bread basket of India, the evening will expose you to a culture that enjoys to
live life to its fullest. The venue will be decorated with fresh flowers and colourful
backdrops. There will be a small bazaar with bangles being made and sold, a
puppet seller and more. The ladies of the group can get mahendi (henna) put on
their hands. Music from a live performances by a traditional “Bhangra” & “Gidda”
troupe will pulsate through the hall. Join in the festivities on stage as the dancers
pull the guests into their magic. This will be a fun filled evening, a great start to
their journey through India.
Guests can be given traditional Indian outfits to dress up for this evening.
